“Other species and other ethnics”

July 8, 2009

Brian Kilmeade on FOX & Friends this morning:

We keep marrying other species and other ethnics … The problem is the Swedes have pure genes. They marry other Swedes, that’s the rule. Finns marry other Finns; they have a pure society. In America we marry everybody. We will marry Italians and Irish.

Kilmeade obviously yearns for “a pure society” – you know who else did that?

As an Irishman, I guess I’m a member of the “other species” which – given Kilmeade’s membership – I’m happy to be.

Video here.

    That’s … that’s left me speechless.

    Isn’t “Kilmeade” Irish?

    @ Alan

    Yeah, you’d think so. He’s probably self-loathing :)

Uh-oh! I married a full blooded swede! Who is part sami (=lapp), and somewhere down the ancestral line has a little german and french in her. The worst part is… our kids are hybrid monsters!! Oh Noez!

Funny enough, here in rural North Carolina we know of at least 3 other swedish-american hybrids. :)

Um, Finns marry Finns, and are now proud (well, some of them: the medical geneticists) because they have so many genetic diseases.

    O’Hara … that’s a Finnish name, isn’t it? :)

Well I’m full-blooded Irish (i.e. a mongrel of probably Celtic, Viking, Spanish, French & English blood) who married an American of German and who knows what else decent. My daughter is probably so far a different species that Kilmeade’s head would explode. :D
